FYI: We are often asked what the difference is between a wallbed and a Murphy Bed. A Murphy Bed is a metal frame that is attached to your floor or bottom sill in your wall. You place a 2″ bunkie board (small foundation) and then a mattress on the frame. It then operates up and down with a spring assist. A cabinet can be built around it or a simple screen can be placed in front of it when it is in the up position.
A wallbed is quite different. A wallbed has a wooden face that pulls down with the bed. Some manufacturers refer to a wallbed as a Murphy bed, but in fact, they are quite different. There are a number of mechanisms for Seattle WA wall beds. Most of them involve a hydraulic shock or a metal spring. At Lift and Stor Beds we use the Spring Mechanism on our Premiere and Luxury Series wallbeds and the hydraulic shock mechanism on our Designer Series wallbeds, Our wallbeds can be either vertical or horizontal. Horizontal beds are rotated 90 degrees and open sideways. These are useful if your ceiling is less than 8’ in height.

Starting as low as $1,999 our basic entry level wallbed is designed for those that just want a functional wallbed, or the “do-it-yourselfer”. These lovely storage beds use a high quality hydraulic piston type mechanism and solid wood veneers (NO particleboard!). If you choose, you can get an unfinished wall bed in this series and save $500. Note the limited selections of wood choices and colors.

Starting at $3,300. For something more elaborate, this is the series for you. The Premiere Series offers a custom look and the ability to add a home office with your wall bed. These beds use a high quality spring balance mechanism that is the best in the industry. This is our most popular collection of wall beds with dozens of options available to choose from. We have a number of popular finishes available for you to choose from and many wood options. Our premiere series bed is also available unfinished if you feel the urge to get creative and do your own finishing. This will save you $500. Purchase the wallbed by itself, or add a bookcase, wardrobe cabinet, as well.
