On their show, they help other buyers find fixer uppers and plan and execute the renovations.
Recently, they shared their advice for finding and renovating properties for a profit. Some of the advice you might have expected, such as doing your research to get to know the neighborhood and working closely with a realtor and contractor to find the right investment opportunities.

However, some bits of advice may come as a surprise. For example, you don’t even have to pick up a hammer to make a big change to a property — a little paint and the right furniture can go a long way. In particular, you can make smaller spaces seem much bigger by using a light color palette and adding space-saving furniture pieces like Murphy wall beds.

The Property Brothers say that a little goes a long way in a small space. That’s why you want to use smaller pieces of furniture and only as many pieces as you need. Wall beds help you to get more functionality out of the space without cluttering the room and making it seem smaller.

Murphy wall beds feature a number of different designs. For a living room, you might choose a wall bed that has a sofa and shelving units attached. When the bed is stowed away, the sofa appears below it. You do not have to move the sofa to pull down the bed or put it away. The mattress rests over the sofa.

For a guest room, you might choose hidden beds that have desks and shelving attached. Like with the sofa, the desk is attached to the underside of the bed and it appears automatically when you push the mattress against the wall. You can turn the guest room into a home office, or vice versa.

Murphy wall beds are also an especially good choice for kids’ rooms, since they often become cluttered with toy boxes, bookshelves and desks.

By using wall beds and other space-saving furniture, such as storage ottomans or transforming tables, you can make your home look bigger than it is. If you are planning to sell your property, this will make it more attractive to buyers. However, even if you aren’t planning on going anywhere, this will make your home feel more open and inviting for your family and guests.
